Giorgio Celiberti Giorgio Celiberti, painter and sculptor, was born in Udine in 1929. In 1948, when he was only eighteen, he took part in the Venice Biennale. Still today he is the youngest exhibitor ever. In the early fifties he moved to Paris. Thus, began a series of trips that will remain central for his training: Brussels, London, United States, Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela. On his return to Italy he moved to Rome where he lived for a long time. He has exhibited, with great public success and critical acclaim, in important art exhibitions both in Italy and abroad: the Venice Biennale, the Quadriennale in Rome, the exhibition of the New Italian Painting in Japan. He has held over 160 solo exhibitions in museums, private galleries and art fairs in major cities around the world. In 1991 Celiberti also executed two prestigious public works: the Mosaic of Friendship in the University of in Ljubljana and the fresco of over 600 square meters on the vaulted ceiling of the Kawakyu Hotel in Japan. In 2011 he was invited for the fifth ti e to the Venice Biennale and in the same year a large Stele is placed in the fortress of Terezin. In 2013 an anthological exhibition was held at Villa Manin in Codroipo (Udine). In the most recent period public works have been awarded to Celiberti by the cities of Mareno di Piave, Cordovado and Cavazzo Carnico. The artist lives and works in Udine.
